D.L. HANNON INC.'s Occupational Health & Safety Policy is to conduct its operations with the highest regard for the health and safety of its employees, customers, and the public. By investing in training and awareness, using the most up-to-date tools and equipment, and following certified fleet and equipment maintenance procedures, the Company is dedicated to providing a working environment in which employees can work safely.

We will meet or exceed all applicable health and safety legislation and accepted industry standards. The Company will make every reasonable effort to eliminate or control workplace hazards and minimize risks that have the potential to threaten health and safety. The Company will conduct audits and measurements of its safety system in order to make continual improvements in safety performance.

Health and safety are the responsibility of employees at all levels. Employees in positions of leadership must understand and accept their distinct responsibility for health and safety and will be held accountable for safety performance. They must communicate safety and lead by example. All employees must follow the Company's health and safety rules and policies, maintain a positive safety attitude, and promote safe work practices to prevent accidents involving themselves or others.

  • establishing and maintaining a health and safety program
  • ensuring workers are trained or certified, as required
  • reporting accidents and cases of occupational disease to the appropriate authority
  • providing medical and first aid facilities
  • ensuring personal protective equipment is available
  • providing workers with health and safety information
  • supporting supervisors in their health and safety activities
  • evaluating health and safety performance of supervisors
